I wasn’t a fan in the beginning – it felt kind of slow and I wasn’t sure where it was heading, but it definitely got better as it went. Once it picked up, I couldn’t put it down. And when I tell you the spice was hot, I mean it.

The plot really carried this one. It felt solid, like the concrete foundation of the story, and I loved that stability. Maybe I just expected more at the start, but by the middle, it completely pulled me in.

As for the female lead – she’s great. She’s got a strong personality, and for someone thrown headfirst into a paranormal world filled with chaos and monsters, she handles it all really well.

My thoughts on the guys:

Ames – Honestly, I couldn’t stand him at first. Toward the

end, he grew on me a little, but not much.

Onyx – In book one, he creeped me out (no clue why, lol), but in Dragon, I absolutely loved him – and I don’t even like vampires! But since he’s part vampire, part dragon… I’ll get over it.

Wolf – Still my favorite. The chill, charming, sweet one

who keeps everything balanced.

Judas – I didn’t like him at all in book one, but in this one?

Totally different story. He’s teasing, mysterious, and I’m so here for it.

The story started slow but turned out strong – darker, steadier, and full of character growth. Definitely better than book one for me. 0.0

— a solid follow-up that makes me want to see

what happens next.
