I originally picked this up expecting something fun and a little different, and it honestly ended up surprising me in the best way.

From the very first chapter, I was hooked. The story flows really smoothly, especially with how it moves between first and third person, it sounds like it would be distracting, but it actually feels really natural while you’re reading. I barely even noticed the transitions, which made it super easy to just fall into the story.

One of my favorite parts of this book was the characters, especially Mateo. He completely stole the show for me. There’s just something about his personality that adds that extra layer of charm and humor, and it made the whole reading experience even more enjoyable.

The overall vibe of this story is a really nice balance. It’s lighthearted at times, but still has enough depth and tension to keep things interesting. The pacing is smooth, nothing feels dragged out, and it’s one of those books where you look up and realize way more time has passed than you expected because you were so into it.

And yes… the spice is definitely there 🔥

If you enjoy:

  • friends-to-lovers
  • hidden past / secret identity
  • strong character dynamics
  • a mix of humor + tension

then this is definitely one worth checking out.
